kiss me like a stranger
Kiss me like a stranger, someone you kissed before you met
Kiss me with the danger of wine-red lips and wet
Kiss me like you lost it in the music of the night
Kiss me like you fought it because you knew it wasn’t right
Kiss me like you love me; you know I’m worth the fight
Kiss me from above me drifting from the sky
Kiss me from below me, look me in the eye
Kiss me like a stranger; kiss me like a friend
Kiss me like the danger is we’ll never kiss again
I read Gene Wilder’s autobiography by the same title and could not get that phrase out of my head. “Kiss Me Like a Stranger.” It seemed to have such a powerful allure. It stayed there until I wrote these lines. Maybe now I can set it free.
