Days like dinosaurs disappear Leaving but fossilized remnants As proof they were ever here They live only in our memory And even that, As we look back Will change how we remember What we see And what's distinct And what's extinct Or never was Or may yet be Moments like raindrops Puddle up, then disappear Into the earth Or the atmosphere These moments Should we be without Would parch our souls - Would dry us out We'd thirst for life In endless drought May the raindrops fall Upon us all And puddle up In each of us And help us feel And make us think And from the deepest waters drink This drives us from disaster's brink That we will never be extinct Days will disappear And every moment flee But you and I remain here With our memory And will Until Eternity
