Quotes to Love, Live By, and Look Up
Show Notes:
I am a word guy. I love to study them, feel them, deploy them, and never forget them.
In this episode of The JourneyMan’s Journal, I’m bringing my limited series, “Scattershooting,” to the microphone. Named in honor of the late, great sportswriter Blackie Sherrod, this episode is a carefully curated, randomly assembled collection of quotes I’ve gathered over the years—collected much like baseball cards or rare coins.
The inspiration sparked after I landed on Treasure Island: an autographed, hardcover copy of Blackie Sherrod’s Scattershooting that I managed to track down on eBay and steal for a few measly bucks. It was gold, baby, and it set me on this quote journey.
In this episode, we cover:
Why “everywhere starts somewhere.”
A mix of wisdom from Winston Churchill, Babe Ruth, Robert Duvall, and my Mom.
The time my Uncle Troy and I rolled through an upper-crust San Francisco in a puttering 4-cylinder.
The truth about being the calm and the storm…
And why the matter of the heart is the heart of the matter.
Have a seat and a sip and let’s start.
