ROLL, TIDE!
All who sail the sea of life must know the plight
Of the sailor and the ship
When the day is dark as the darkest night
And the winds, they howl and whip
A storm may start half a world away
You don’t think it’s yours at all
Others will feel its wrath today
But tomorrow, you’re in the squall
The sea of glass on which you glide
Is boiling its fury now
Will its raging wrath ever subside
You just don’t know…you don’t see how
Whatever your ship, wherever your sea
The storms of life will find you
It won’t be stopped by the powers that be
From testing the ties that bind you
Out there walking the billowing sea
Is the Master of the storm and the calm
To some, a Stranger from Galilee
To others, the Lord of all
He bids us walk upon the waves
He dares us look to Him
Whose power it is alone to save
From the storms without and within
It’s not the boat or the sea it’s in
That keeps the weary sailor safe
It’s the mastery of the One within
To still the wind and halt the waves
To the happy sailor’s unseen Friend
The storm yields as butter to the knife
Life’s interrupted, but in the end
He interrupts the storm with life
