INTO THIN AIR
The air’s too thick to disappear
Too thin to hold me down
In my lungs it holds me here
Exhaled, I leave the ground
I live my life upon two planes
The first I walk in shoes
Where nothing lost is ever gained
And All I do is lose
The other’s on a higher plane
Not bound by space or time
Loss is never there in vain
Nor even leaves the mind
I’m anything I want to be
And everything I’m not
All I own is all I see
What I want, I’ve got
So, let me breathe and fill my day
With hope like oxygen
And I will shed these shoes of clay
And never want again
