Come See About Me

I’m a fatherless child

‘Cause my Daddy’s gone;

I’m a widowed woman,

Now on my own;

I’m a disabled child,

Watching other kids play;

I’m a man on the street,

Who’s lost his way;

I’m an overwhelmed Dad

With bills I can’t pay;

I’m the pet who got lost—

They call me a stray

I’m a quiet coworker,

Eating lunch by myself

I once was the man,

Now I’m here on this shelf;

I’m yesterday’s news;

I’m tomorrow’s headlines;

I’m not doing well,

But I’ll tell you I’m fine.

Come see about me.

Everyone needs a friend

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Matthew 25:34-40

I am a lover, a fighter, and a midnight writer. I love football, hamburgers, and philosophical inquiries. I love Jesus more than any of that. I love my wife, my daughters, my grandson, and my English Setters, Huck and Finn. I also love Huck Finn...and other seminal characters in American literature. Like Gus McCrae. I love the English language. I love to dive into the wonders of its depth and splash around in the shallow end where colloquialisms and slang rule and reign.
